Ligament Sprains

Ligament sprains are one of the top injuries that we rehab here at Apollo Performance Chiropractic. These injuries can range from mild to severe, but they all have the same goal: to maximize healing of the ligament while keeping the joint strong and stable. Sounds simple, but there are good ways to do this, and then, there is The Apollo Approach.

Ligament sprains occur when there is excessive stretching or tearing of the ligaments that hold bones together at a joint. The severity of the injury will determine the course of treatment, but the principles of treatment often remain the same regardless of the body region affected.

In our practice, we use an evidence-based approach to treat ligament sprains. This means ditching the old method of RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation), and adopting a more modern approach that prioritizes early movement integration and constant challenging of the patient, of course tailoring treatment based on the status of their recovery.

Our job as sports rehab specialists is to pull out every stop in order to maximize healing of the ligament while preventing any loss of function of the surrounding musculature and joints. Through a systematic and controlled process, we help our patients return to play as quickly and safely as possible.
